The 1931 Oglethorpe Stormy Petrels football team represented Oglethorpe University in the sport of American football during the 1931 college football season. This season was again a tough one for the Oglethorpe squad. The first game of the season against rival, Chattanooga, gave Oglethorpe her first loss at Hermance Stadium. It also continued a losing streak for the Petrels against the Mocs. In a stroke of luck, Oglethorpe defeated Wake Forest at home on Friday, November 13. Oglethorpe did defeat Furman at home when Furman had come into Hermance undefeated. The Oglethorpe team traveled around the nation quite a bit, only playing three home games.
