The 1964 Illinois Fighting Illini football team represented the University of Illinois in the 1964 college football season.
Season
At Illinois, Dick Butkus played center and linebacker from 1962 through 1964. Butkus was a unanimous All-American, in 1964. Butkus was named the American Football Coaches Association Player of the Year in 1964. Butkus also finished third in Heisman Trophy balloting, a remarkable achievement given his position.
