Summary
First Conference: With its bid for an unprecedented two consecutive grandslams stopped by arch rival Toyota, the Redmanizers still had its power-packed line-up intact with newcomers from the amateur ranks and the comebacking Bogs Adornado. In the elimination round, Crispa matched Toyota's 12-win, 2-loss record as everybody was expecting another classic Toyota-Crispa confrontation, but in the semifinals, the Redmanizers surprisingly faltered after winning their first three outings, they lost the next three games and were ousted by arch rival Toyota. In the battle for third place, Crispa lost to Tanduay via quotient with their series tied at two games apiece. [1]
Second Conference: Crispa stood firm to defend its last crown with the All-Filipino unsuccessfully defended. Coach Baby Dalupan personally choose 6-11's Ansley Truitt and Paul Mills. U-Tex and Crispa advanced to the semifinals without much difficulty and placed first and second after the semifinal round to enter into the championship, unlike their last year's confrontation, the 400s were for the first time, an underdog in the title series, matched against the Wranglers' triumvirate of Glenn McDonald, Byron "Snake" Jones and Lim Eng Beng, the Redmanizers were swept in three games by U-Tex.
Third Conference: Cyrus Mann, last year's Crispa import, was recalled by Danny Floro to replace Paul Mills. Five teams qualified for the Invitational championship. Crispa lost three of its four games in the round-robin and had to settle for third place honors.
