The 1985 St. Louis Cardinals season was the 66th season the team was in the league. The team failed to improve on their previous output of 9–7, winning only five games.[1] This was the third straight season in which the team did not reach the playoffs. The Cardinals fired Head Coach Jim Hanifan after the season that saw the Cardinals finish in last place after a 3-1 start.
