The award for Best New Artist was originally awarded to Milli Vanilli. In November 1990, the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences revoked Milli Vanilli's Grammy,[3][4][5] after Milli Vanilli performers Robert Pilatus and Fabrice Morvan and their producer, Frank Farian, admitted the duo "did not sing a note" on their album, Girl You Know It's True.[6]
