5KPlayer is a media player, streaming media server and video downloader for Windows and macOS. It is developed in January 2015 by DearMob, Inc.[1] 5KPlayer supports various audio and video compression methods and file formats, including DVD-Video, video CD and streaming protocols. It supports high resolution up to 4K resolution. It also plays Internet radio.
5KPlayer supports Apple's AirPlay technology.[2] It act both as an AirPlay sender (client) and receiver (server); in other words, it can mirror the screens of iPad and iPhone devices on Windows and macOS computers and is able to transmit video to an Apple TV or other AirPlay-receiving appliances.
The default distribution of 5KPlayer includes a large number of built-in decoding and encoding libraries.
