Vice Admiral AK Chawla is an Indian Navy officer, currently serving as Chief of Personnel.[1]
He joined the Navy in 1982. He commanded INS Vinash, INS Kora, INS Tabar and INS Viraat.[2]
He commanded the Western Fleet from 16 Aug 2013 to 01 Oct 2014 before being promoted to Vice Admiral and appointed as the Director General Naval Operations on 31 Dec 2014.
He assumed the position of Chief of Personnel on 28 May 2016.
