A Chorus of Obliteration is The Showdown's debut album. It blends Christian metalcore with Southern metal and melodic death metal. Every song on A Chorus of Obliteration is based on a story in the Bible. For example, "A Monument Encased in Ash" is based on the destruction of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, "Epic: A Chorus of Obliteration" is based on the Israelites taking down Jericho, "From the Mouth of Gath Comes Terror" is based on the conflict between David and Goliath, and "Dagon Undone (The Reckoning)" is based on Samson and Delilah. The musical style is a fusion of death metal, thrash metal, traditional heavy metal, and metalcore, with some vague influences of Southern rock.
