Agusan (province)

Agusan is a former province of the Philippines. It was created on August 20, 1907 by Provincial Government Act No. 1693, and dissolved on November 14, 1967 by Republic Act No. 4979. Its territory was divided into Agusan del Norte and Agusan del Sur.

¹ Delimited to the downtown area of present-day Isabela City in 1973; dissolved in 1975. ² Legazpi City from 1948 to 1954 consisted of the present-day territories of Legazpi City and Daraga; this city was dissolved in 1954 into its two former constituent municipalities. Legazpi became a city on its own in 1959. ³ Now independent provinces.
