The Ahvaz oil field is an Iranian oil field located in Ahvaz, Khuzestan Province.[1] It was discovered in 1953 and developed by National Iranian South Oil Company. It began production in 1954. Ahvaz field is one of the richest oil fields in the world with an estimated proven reserves are around 65.5 billion barrels (~8.94×10^9 t), and production is centered on 750,000 barrels per day (119,000 m3/d).[2][3]
