AirAsia Football Club or AirAsia Allstars FC is a Malaysian semi-professional football club which represents and are backed by AirAsia Berhad, a Malaysian low-cost airline.[1][2] The team currently compete in the Malaysia FAM League after being promoted from Selangor's state league.

History

AirAsia Football Club was officially registered on 9 August 2011 as AirAsia Allstars Football Club.[3] The initial purpose of the club was to encourage AirAsia staff to excel in sports, besides being committed to their daily work in keeping AirAsia as the best low cost airline in the world. Although the club has become a professional team, AirAsia FC still holds 5 current staff members from the airline.

In November 2015, the club has announced the appointment of Mat Zan Mat Aris as the new head coach as the club prepare for the new season.[4] Mat Zan Mat Aris is the former head coach of Melaka United F.C. which has achieved a back-to-back promotion from third division to the top division and this has been a quality which AirAsia F.C. looked for in order to bring glory to the club in near future.[4]
