Alfred Zierler
Alfred Zierler * 1933 Himberg, Austria, is an Austrian medallist and engraver.[1]
Life
He comes from Himberg near Vienna where he was born on 28 May 1933 . After he had finished successfully his aprenticeship in engraving he found employment at the Vienna Mint. He remained with this employer until his retirement in 1993. The steps of his career:
- Mint engraver for the dies of the Austrian Mint.
- Design of the post WW2 medals of the Republic of Austria.
- Chief engraver of the Austrian Mint since 1984.
In !993 Alfred Zierler himself received from the Republic of Austria the medal "Goldenes Ehrenzeichen".
