The Vaqueros Laguna (English: Laguna Cowboys) are a AAA-level baseball team playing in the Mexican League.[2]
History
The team was established in 1940 under the name Algodoneros de Unión Laguna. It did not take long for their first league pennant since in 1942 under the command of Martin Dihigo they won both the Zona Norte pennant and the league title. Eight years later, in the 1950 season, they won their second and last title so far, which highlighted the work of Guillermo Garibay.
At the beginning of the 21st century, the team changed its policy, and with it came a change in name and image of the ninth lagoon. It was decided to change the team name to the Laguna Cowboys, and the traditional maroon uniforms were changed to orange.
Among their best players in history are Michael "Pilo" Gaspar, Guillermo Garibay, Pedro "Charolito" Orta, Moisés Camacho, Leo Rodriguez, Martín Dihigo, Jesus "Chanquilón" Diaz, Antonio Pollorena and, of course, Héctor Espino.
