It was produced by Evans, Ron "Amen-Ra" Lawrence, and Sean Combs for her second album Keep the Faith (1998). it features a sample of Unlimited Touch's 1980 hit "I Hear Music in the Streets". Upon its release, the song reached number 9 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Music video
The song's music video was directed by Paul Hunter. It was influenced by Janet Jackson's "I Get Lonely" video, also directed by Hunter.
