Amanda Majeski

Amanda Majeski (born c. 1985) is an American operatic soprano.

Early life

Amanda Majeski was born in Gurnee, Illinois, near Chicago circa 1985.[1] She studied the ballet and learned how to play the piano and the cello as a child.[1]

Majesti attended high school in Mundelein, Illinois.[1] She graduated from the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University.[1] She was trained at the Patrick G. and Shirley W. Ryan Opera Center, an artist-development program at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.[1]

Career

Majeski started her career at the Chicago Opera Theater, where she performed the role of Vitellia in Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito in 2009.[1] She subsequently performed the same role in Madrid, Spain, and in Dresden, Germany.[1] By March 2014, she performed the same role at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.[1] Meanwhile, she performed as Countess Almaviva in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at the Metropolitan Opera in New York City in September 2014.[2]

Majeski performs in Richard Wagner's Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at the 2016 Glyndebourne Festival Opera.[3]

Personal life

Majeski married Sam Handley, an operatic bass-baritone, in 2013.[1]
