Andrew Alexander (journalist)

Andrew Alexander (May 1935 – 5 July 2015) was an English journalist and columnist for The Daily Mail.^[1]

He was the unsuccessful Conservative candidate at the Colne Valley by-election, 1963.^[2] He won Specialist Writer of the Year in the British Press Awards for 1976.^[3] He was denounced in the House of Commons by the Labour MP Dennis Canavan as "that prizewinning cynical jackass".^[4]

He is most known for writing a book on American Imperialism titled America and the Imperialism of Ignorance.^[5]

Alexander died at age 80 on 5 July 2015.^[6]
