Andy Batten-Foster

Andrew Batten-Foster (born May 1953) is a former BBC music presenter, who is now a television producer and director and the owner of Cactus Pictures.

Career

Batten-Foster began his media career in the newsroom at Radio Bristol. While there he learned of a possible job presenting a new arts and music television programme to be produced by David Pritchard for which he successfully auditioned. The RPM Show featured a regular piece by Auberon Waugh that had to be checked by lawyers before it could be broadcast. Batten-Foster moved on to a DJ job at BBC Radio One. In 1983 he presented the Saturday Live show with Richard Skinner. Eventually he became executive producer on shows such as 999, presented by Michael Buerk,[1] and Top Gear.[2][3]

Batten-Foster was director of the Royal Television Society Bristol[4] from 2008 to 2013.

Personal life

Batten-Foster is married to Harriet Rachel Batten-Foster, daughter of television presenter Joan Bakewell.[5]
