Marini was a former researcher in residence at NYU’s Brooklyn Experimental Media Center and has taught at New School of Design and the Technology Department.
Marini has designed many open source tools to help facilitate the video performance medium, amongst others, v002, OpenEmu and Syphon, an open source Mac OS X technology that allows applications to share frames—full frame rate video or stills—with one another in realtime in collaboration with Tom Butterworth. Marini has also been working on an emulator software imitating the Rutt/Etra Video Synthesizer, in collaboration with Bill Etra.
Marini has collaborated on live video performances alongside Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Sufjan Stevens and during the GLI.TC/H festival. In 2012, Anton Marini was resident artist at Eyebeam.[1]
