Arestorides argus, common name : the eyed cowrie, is a species of sea snail, a cowry, a marine gastropod mollusk in the family Cypraeidae, the cowries.[1]

- Arestorides argus contracasta Lorenz, 2012
- Arestorides argus contrastriata (Perry, 1811) : common name : pheasant cowrie: synonym of Cypraea contrastriata Perry, 1811
Description
Distribution
This species and its subspecies are distributed in the seas off Aldabra, Chagos, the Comores, Kenya, Madagascar, the Mascarene Basin, Mauritius, Mozambique, RĂ©union, the Seychelles, Somalia and Tanzania.
