Arturo Molina Gutiérrez
Arturo Molina Gutiérrez is a professor and researcher, as well as Vice-president of Research, Postgraduate Studies and Continuing Education at the Tecnológico de Monterrey.[1][2]
He has a bachelors in computational systems and a masters in computational sciences (1990) from the Tec de Monterrey, Campus Monterrey (1986), a doctorate in mechanics from the Technical University of Budapest (1992) and another in manufacturing systems from the Loughborough University of Technology in England (1995).[1][2][3]
In addition to teaching and administration duties, his areas of investigation include concurrent engineering, information models for design and manufacturing, technology modeling and integration in manufacturing and technologies for collaborative engineering.[2] He was a guest lecturer and researcher in mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley, sponsored by UC MEXUS CONACYT from 2003-2004.[1][2]
He participated in the Marco 6 project in Europe with the creation of ECOLEAD – European Collaborative networked Organizations LEADership initiative,[2] and is currently working on the Marco 7 project in Europe related to sustainable mass customization. He is also involved in the PYME CREATIVA project in Peru to support small and medium-sized enterprises funded by the IBM Shared University Research (SUR) program and the ICT-BUS of the Inter-American Development Bank.[1][2]
Molina has worked as a consultant to the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.[1] He is a member of the United Nations Information and Communication Technologies Task Force, and chair of the International Federation of Automation and Control.[2] Molina also has been part of the editorial committees of the Annals of Review of Control, Virtual Organisations and the International Journal of Computer Integrated Manufacturing.[2][3] In 2012, he testified before the Mexican Senate on energy issues.[4]
He has started three technology based businesses IECOS- Integration Engineering and Construction Systems, SMES- Soluctions for Manufacturing Enterprise Systems and ALBIOMAR, and is named on twelve patents.[1]
Molina’s work has been recognized with Level II membership in the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores as well as membership in the Academia Mexicana de Ciencias and Engineering Academy of Mexico.[1][2][5] In 2012, he received the Award of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Hungary.

He has published five books, over forty peer-reviewed articles, fifty eight book chapters and over sixty articles for conferences.[1]
