For the first twelve years it was run by the Bishop of Central Tanganyika on behalf of the Government. In 1946 the original agreement was revised and the Government assumed control of the School. The Bishop of Central Tanganyika was appointed Warden of the school and presided over meetings of the School Council.
On 1st May 1963, control of the school was vested on a Board of Governors appointed by the Ministry of Education and chaired by the Bishop of Central Tanganyika Diocese of Anglican Church. Since the implementation of the 1970 Educational Act, the school was managed by a Board of Governors entirely appointed by the Ministry of National Education.
In 1972 the Government took over the school and dissolved the Board of Governors. In 1975 the Ministry of National Education appointed an Advisory Board which had the power to advise the school administration and the Ministry on various school matters.
After the introduction of the National Education Act of 1978 the Ministry appointed a School Board
There are 491 day students and 283 boarders. The tuition for day students is 380,000 Tanzanian shillings per year, (approximately $300) and boarders pay 700,000 shillings per year ($560).
