Association of Energy Engineers
The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), founded in 1977, is a nonprofit professional society of over 17,500 members in 98 countries. The mission of AEE is “to promote the scientific and educational interests of those engaged in the energy industry and to foster action for sustainable development.”
AEE offers a full array of informational outreach programs including seminars (live and internet based), conferences, journals, books, and certification programs.
AEE's network of 88 local chapters meets regularly to discuss regional issues. AEE's roster of Corporate Members is a veritable “who's who” from the commercial, industrial, institutional, governmental, energy services, and utility sectors.
AEE presents the World Energy Engineering Congress, one of the largest conferences and expositions in the energy field.
The AEE Energy Insight is an online newsletter that focuses on the accomplishment of the Association and its members. AEE also publishes three technical journals: Energy Engineering, Strategic Planning for Energy & the Environment, and Distributed Generation & Alternative Energy Journal.
The Foundation of the Association of Energy Engineers is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to furthering education in energy and management. To date, the Foundation has awarded over $600,000 in scholarships for use by outstanding students.[1]
Certifications
Since 1981 the Association of Energy Engineers has certified more than 26,000 professionals, enabling them to receive special recognition for their expertise in a variety of specialized areas of the energy, power, green facilities industry. AEE's certification programs are recognized by such agencies as the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as by Fortune 1000 corporations, utilities, and energy service companies.

Conferences/Shows
Each year the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) presents three conference and trade show events for energy and facility professionals. These events, held throughout the continental United States, provide opportunities to find out more about the issues and marketplace developments that impact your decisions, as well as to see the latest technologies first hand.

AEE also publishes books targeted for energy- and facility-involved professionals. AEE members receive newsletters on the energy industry. In addition, AEE regularly releases reports on the energy industry.
