Averof Neofytou (Greek: Αβέρωφ Νεοφύτου; born 21 July 1961) is a Greek Cypriot politician who has been President of the governing Democratic Rally (DISY) party since 2013. A member of the House of Representatives for Paphos, he previously served as Minister of Communications and Works and Mayor of Polis Chrysochou.
Neofytou, born 1961 in Argaka, Paphos, studied Economics and Accountancy at the New York Institute of Technology. Vice-president of his Democratic Rally party's youth branch NEDISY, he was elected Mayor of Polis Chrysochou in 1991, until elected to the House of Representatives in 1998. Reelected in 2006 and 2011, he succeeded Nicos Anastasiades after his election as President of Cyprus in chairing his DISY party.[1]
