Ayesha Gulalai Wazir (Pashto: عایشه ګلالۍ وزير; Urdu: عائشه گلالئ) is a Pakistani activist-politician and the Member of National Assembly representing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on a reserved seat for women.[1]
Early life
Ayesha was born and raised in Bannu.Her family moved from Bannu to Peshawar when her father was transferred there. She holds a degree of Bachelors in International Relations, BS in Computer Science, and Masters in Comparative Religions.[2][3]
Career
Prior to joining PTI, Ayesha has served as the Chief Coordinator of the Pakistan Peoples Party for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, and was also briefly part of All Pakistan Muslim League. She has been a Member of the Pakistani National Assembly for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on a reserved seat for women ,[4] originally from Khyber Paktunkhwa.
Personal life
Her sister is Maria Toorpakay a professional squash player,[5]who applied for asylum and moved to Toronto, Canada after receiving threats from the Taliban..[6]
