B. J. McLeod Motorsports is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the Camping World Truck Series. The team is owned by B. J. McLeod and his wife Jessica. In the Xfinity Series, the team currently fields the No. 15 Ford Mustang part-time for various drivers, the No. 99 Ford Mustang part-time for various drivers and the No. 78 Ford Mustang full-time for B. J. McLeod.

Founding

On February 3, 2016, team owner B. J. McLeod said that the team fielded two full-time cars, including the No. 78 Ford Mustang driven by himself. Batteries Plus Bulbs sponsored the car for three races in 2016.[1]

Xfinity Series

Car No. 15 history

Todd Peck ran this car for three races, at Phoenix International Raceway, Auto Club Speedway, and Texas Motor Speedway. Two of those, the Phoenix and Auto Club races, came after he failed to make the field in McLeod's No. 99 car. He recorded a best finish of 30th at Auto Club.[2] Jeff Green drove in a one-off at Bristol Motor Speedway, finishing 27th.[3] Travis Kvapil then drove the car at Richmond International Raceway, Talladega, and Dover.[4]

Car No. 78 history

Team owner McLeod drove this car as an owner-driver in 2016. He made the first ten races, and scored on top twenty finish, a nineteenth at Dover International Speedway. McLeod also had two engine failures, at Auto Club and Talladega Superspeedway.[5]

Car No. 90 history

In 2015 season, B.J. field a part-time team in partner with King Autosport. They share the owner points of 90/92 team. In 2016 Todd Peck returns to 90 team in Richmond spring race.

Car No. 99 history

This car entered Daytona with Chris Fontaine at the wheel, missing the show. The car qualified the following week at Atlanta, with Todd Peck driving. After Ryan Ellis crashed his Rick Ware Racing No. 15 Chevrolet in qualifying, the No. 99 served as a backup No. 15 car. Todd Peck also failed to qualify with the car in three races. The No. 99 team shut down the rest of the season, because they DNQed most of their races. They returned at Road America with Stanton Barrett. They returned again at Kansas and Phoenix with Jeff Green.

Camping World Truck Series

Truck No. 0 history

Matt Tifft made one start with this truck, at Martinsville Speedway in 2014.[6] He finished a 9th-place finish, the team's best finish.

Truck No. 35 history

Tommy Regan made one start in this truck, at Martinsville in 2015.[7]

Truck No. 45 history

Regan debuted this truck in 2014, making one start with it at Iowa Speedway.[8] Tifft made two starts in it later in the season.[9] Chris Fontaine ran this number for the Eldora Speedway race in 2015.[10] And also ran in Talladega late in the season. McLeod made ten other starts, receiving funding from Tilted Kilt Pub & Eatery.[11] Regan also made two starts with the truck.[12]

Truck No. 78 history

McLeod ran this truck for two races in 2011, with a best finish of 20th at Nashville its team debut in NASCAR.[13] He also made one race with this truck in 2013.[14] In 2016 season, Chris Fontaine ran in Daytona and attempted to Martinsville spring race and Eldora race but failed to qualify both. Fontaine returned at Talladega and finished 23rd. Tommy Regan returned at Texas in his 2016 season debut but failed to qualify. The first DNQ in his career.
