Banat's University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine from Timișoara (Romanian: Universitatea de Științe Agricole și Medicină Veterinară a Banatului din Timișoara) is a university in Timișoara, Romania which specializes in life sciences. The former Agricultural Institute Timișoara was established at the Polytechnic University of Timișoara by Royal Decree in 1945. After it split off and 6 new faculties were established, it became an independent university with Paun Otiman as first rector from 1991 to 2004. He was succeeded by Alexandru Moisuc (2004-2012), Paul Pirsan )2012-2016) and Cosmin Alin Popescu (2016-). The university is involved in the European Union research project Biofector and a German-Romanian agriculture project in nearby Voiteg.
