Bayscape is a planned skyscraper development in Cardiff Bay, Wales. It was originally planned to be completed in 2013; however, underwent a redesign which was subsequently approved on 13 June 2013.[1] The building would be Wales’ tallest building. The tower is expected to develop into a 32-storey five-star hotel run by international five-star chain Wyndham Hotels & Resorts.
The 24th and 26th floors of the tower would be taken up with a “Sky Bar", with a restaurant on the 26th floor.
Plans
The plans include the 120-room 32 storey hotel spa and conference suite tower, with several low-rise apartment buildings of up to 8 storeys aimed largely at the upper end of the private residential market, and retail units.
The development site is located in the £1 billion regeneration project in Cardiff Bay, the Cardiff International Sports Village. The site of the project is situated along Victoria Wharf next to the River Ely and Cardiff International White Water, linked to the Pont y Werin footbridge and Waterbus stop. Cardiff International Pool is 200 yards away.[2][3]
The tower will be the tallest hotel tower in the United Kingdom upon completion.[4]
Operator
The tower is expected to develop into a 32-storey five-star hotel run by international five-star chain Wyndham Hotels. The operator of the restaurant, has not yet been announced. Wyndham Hotel Cardiff is only the second hotel to be built by the group outside London’s Chelsea Harbour. The location was chosen by Wyndham Hotels due to its coastal marina location.[5]
