Ben Keighran

Ben Keighran is an Australian born internet entrepreneur currently residing in San Francisco, CA.[1] In 2009, Keighran became CEO & Co-Founder of Chomp (Application), a technology company that powers an on-device native and web app search and discovery engine.[2]

Previously, he assumed a lead advisory role for mobile products at social search company, Aardvark, until Google acquired it in early 2010. In 2006, Keighran relocated from Sydney to San Francisco, where he raised $6.5 million to build Bluepulse, a mobile social messaging application. Bluepulse was one of the most downloaded mobile java applications ever, reaching nearly 2mm downloads per month at its peak. The business grew to a point where users were exchanging 300mm messages per month.

In 2007, Keighran was nominated by Business Week as one of America's top Entrepreneur's under the age of 25.[3] As a teen, he developed Australia's first geo-based Bluetooth network app and first app store. He is also a mentor for 500startups.com and Web FWD by providing engineering and mobile expertise.[4] He regularly blogs on Chomp.com and has also written guest blogs for TechCrunch.[2]
