Poothakkulam is a village in Kollam district in the state of Kerala, India.Poothakkulam also known as Bhoothakkulam is 4.9 km away from Paravur and 26 km from Kollam. The area pertain in Poothakkulam are Poothakkulam,Kalakkod,Nellettil,Kottuvan konam,Puthenkulam,Oonninmoodu and Idayadi.[1]
Geography
Poothakkulam village is situated in the southernmost portion of Kollam district near Idava Nadayara kayal. The topography is plain area and near to sea level. The village is inherited with lake and paddy fields. The borders of Poothakkulam villages are Paravur municipality in the west,Parippalli panchayath in the east,Chirakkara panachayath in the north and Thiruvananthapuram district in the south.
