Bhopalgarh tehsil is a tehsil in Jodhpur District of Rajasthan state in western India.[2] Headquarters for the tehsil is the town of Bhopalgarh.

Bhopalgarh tehsil is an eastern tehsil among the eleven tehsils in Jodhpur District. It borders Nagaur District to the north and east, Bilara tehsil to the south, Mandor tehsil to the southwest, and Bawadi tehsil to the west.[3]

History

In 2009 Bhopalgarh tehsil was divided, with the western half becoming Bawadi tehsil.

Demographics

In the 2001 Indian census, the formerly larger Bhopalgarh Tahsil recorded 271,567 inhabitants of which 140,057 (51.6%) were male and 131,510 (48.4%) were female, for a gender ratio of 939 females per thousand males.[4] In 2001 in Bhopalgarh, 100% of the households were rural.[4]
