Bill Westwater was an early twentieth-century Scottish-Canadian association football wing forward who played in Scotland, Canada and the United States.
In 1922, Westwater moved to Canada, spending one season with the Toronto All Scots before moving to Montreal Carsteel.[1] In 1924, he moved to the United States, joining the New Bedford Whalers of the American Soccer League. While he played his winters in the U.S. he continued to play his summers in Canada appearing for Montreal Carsteel in 1926, 1927, 1928 and 1929 and Montreal CNR in 1930. With CNR he appeared in the Canadian Challenge Cup final in 1930. He also represented Montreal on many occasions against touring teams and was one of the few players to play for both Toronto and Montreal in the annual Carls-Rite Cup matches between the two cities.
