Overview
1986 film
Blusang Itim was first introduced as a novel written by Elena Patron and was serialized from 1981 to 1983. In 1986, the novel was adapted into a film which was produced by Seiko Films with Snooky Serna[3] in the lead role playing Jessa. It became a success. This started the popularity of Richard Gomez and Snooky Serna's love team.
2011 TV remake
In preparation for the television remake, GMA Network gave auditions to their roster of young actresses for the lead role. The names of StarStruck V's winner, Sarah Lahbati, and newcomers Gwen Zamora and Isabelle Daza were heavily considered for Jessa's role. But, in the end, it was Kylie Padilla who was chosen by the network.[4]
2015 TV parody
In Eat Bulaga!'s KalyeSerye's Episode "Dating Tips" Tidora (Paolo Ballesteros) makeups Yaya Dub (Maine Mendoza) and her Eyebrows was inspired by same thing. Lola Nidora's Quote "Pagsusuotin mo ba 'yan ng blusang itim?"
Premise
The story revolves around Jessa, an ugly woman who wants to be accepted by people despite her appearance. She also hopes to be loved by a man wholeheartedly despite her looks. These seems to be possible for Jessa when she wears the mysterious black blouse. The black blouse as the mystical garment has the power to make the wearer beautiful and sexually attractive to men.
