Bogert's gecko (Bogertia lutzae) is a species of gekkonid lizard,[1] the only species contained in the genus Bogertia.

Etymology

The generic name, Bogertia, is in honor of American herpetologist Charles Mitchill Bogert, and the specific name, lutzae, is in honor of Brazilian herpetologist Bertha Maria Julia Lutz.[2]

Geographic range

B. lutzae is found in northeastern Brazil, in the Brazilian states of Bahia and Pernambuco.[3]

Taxonomy

Based on DNA analysis, Gamble et al. (2012) have placed this species in the genus Phyllopezus, along with three other described species and several undescribed species.[4]
