Boofle is a brand of woollen toy Dog created by David Blake and licensed by UK Greetings.[1]
History
Created by David and Sarah Blake in 2007, Boofle was originally modelled with plasticine before being turned into a paper mesh for the original 12" knitted character. The original toy was knitted by David's mum, which was stuffed and stitched to create the finished product. The marketing of Boofle is handled by Sarah Blake. The pattern on Boofle is changed each season to reflect the time of year and refresh the look.
Boofle is currently licensed by DRI, an independent licensing and marketing company, with over 10 licensees covering apparel,[2] homeware, BTS stationery, craft products, chocolate, melamine feeding products and slippers. As well as greeting cards which are produced by UK Greetings, Boofle products also include soft toys and gifts; manufactured and distributed by Only4U, the UK’s leading supplier of inspirational gifts and 3D products.
