Buddleja 'Podaras1', selling name = Flutterby Grande Vanilla, is a sterile hybrid cultivar raised by Peter Podaras whilst at Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, and patented in 2011. Flutterby Grande Vanilla is the result of a crossing of B. × weyeriana 'Honeycomb' × B. davidii.
Description
Flutterby Grande Vanilla has an upright and spreading habit, growing to 1.8 × 1.8 m, with compound terminal and axillary conical panicles, < 11 cm long by 6 cm wide, comprising around 525 faintly fragrant creamy white flowers with orange eyes. The opposite, narrowly elliptic leaves are about 15 cm long by 2.5 cm wide, with lanulose surfaces.
Cultivation
Flutterby Grande Vanilla is not known (2012) to be in cultivation beyond the USA. The shrub is reputedly hardy to - 29° C.

Released in 2011, the cultivar has yet to appear in literature. The only reference (2012) is the US patent application given.
