The 3M Championship is a professional golf tournament on the Champions Tour, played annually at the TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minnesota, a suburb north of Minneapolis. 3M, based in Minneapolis, is the main sponsor of the tournament.
The tournament was founded 23 years ago in 1993 as the Burnet Senior Classic, and was originally held at the Bunker Hills Golf Course in the neighboring city of Coon Rapids.[1] After eight years, the tournament moved to the year-old TPC Twin Cities in 2001, when 3M took over as sponsor. The purse in 2013 was $1.75 million, with a winner's share of $262,500.
