CMA CGM Zheng He is an Explorer class containership built for CMA CGM.[1] It is among the world's largest containerships, at 16,020 TEU.[2]
The ship was built by Shanghai Jiangnan Changxing Heavy Industry, the same shipyard that built sister ship CMA CGM Benjamin Franklin.[3] It is the longest ship built on hull in China.[4]
Named for famed Chinese Admiral Zheng He, the ship is expected to ply the water off Europe and Asia for CMA CGM.[5] It is the second CMA CGM ship to be named for Zheng He, CMA CGM Marco Polo was originally named for the Chinese explorer.
