Canexus

Canexus Corporation (TSX: CUS) is a publicly traded company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.[1] The company's headquarter is based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Canexus focus on low-cost and sustainable chemical operations; produces sodium chlorate and chlor-alkali products, mainly used for the pulp and paper and water treatment industries.[2][3] Canexus has 4 plants in Canada located in British Columbia, Manitoba and Quebec. Canexus also has a site in Brazil where two plants operate.[4]

Canexus also has a hydrocarbon transloading service for the oil and gas induistry located at their Bruderheim, Alberta terminal.[3]

The company reported a $40.3 million cash operating profit in the first quarter of 2012, a record high. This was a 10% increase over the fourth quarter of 2011 and 87% higher than the first quarter of 2011.[5]
