Carmen Gaina is a geophysicist whose research goal is to study the evolution of the global oceanic regions, she is involved in compilation of large geophysical datasets (Circum-Arctic Mapping Project[3] part (CAMP-GM) of the new World Digital Magnetic Anomaly Map release (WDMAM)). She is the team leader of the Centre for Geodynamics, Norwegian Geological Survey.[2]

The Centre for Geodynamics has a leading role in the studies of Mantle dynamics utilising 3-D computer simulations.
