Carphephorus odoratissimus (common name Vanillaleaf)[2] is a species of North American plants in the sunflower family. They are native to the southeastern United States in the States of Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Florida.[3][4]
Carphephorus odoratissimus is an herb up to 180 cm (6 feet) tall, largely without hairs. It produces a flat-topped inflorescence with many small purplish flower heads containing disc florets but no ray florets.[2]
