Caylib Rees Oosthuizen (born 1 September 1989 in Cape Town, South Africa) is a rugby union player who regularly plays as a loosehead prop. He currently plays for the Eastern Province Kings.

Career

Oosthuizen started his senior career in Johannesburg with the Lions, however, he was unable to hold down a regular starting slot and left having only made a handful of appearances.

He joined the Free State Cheetahs in 2013 and presently represents them in the Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup competitions.[1][2]

In 2013, he was included in the Cheetahs squad for the 2013 Super Rugby season and was named on the substitutes' bench for their match against the Sharks,[3] but failed to make an appearance. Again included in 2014,[4] and made his debut by starting in a 21–20 defeat to the Lions in Bloemfontein.[5][6]

Oosthuizen previously represented the University of Johannesburg in the 2011 Varsity Cup where he started all 8 of his sides' matches.[7]

International

Oosthuizen represented South Africa under 20 in the 2009 IRB Junior World Championship in Japan.[8]
