Cenex is a delivery agency established in 2005 with support from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to promote UK market development and competitiveness in low-carbon transport industry.[5][6][7]
History
Cenex – the Low Carbon and Fuel Cells Centre of Excellence – was established in April 2005 with support from the Automotive Unit of the Department of Trade and Industry(DTI) (now Department for Business, Innovation and Skills)[8] to allow the UK automotive sector to respond competitively to the challenges posed by the transition to low carbon and fuel cell technologies.[9]
Events
Cenex is the organiser of the Low Carbon Vehicle Event(annually organised from 2008),[10][11][12] The Hybrid and Electric Vehicles Conference (HEVC) 2011 edition[13][14] and the Sustainable Efficient Road Transport Event (SERT) 2011 edition.[15][16]
Programmes
Cenex acts as a “delivery agent” in the management and delivery of a number of programmes for National Government clients including Department for Business, Innovation and Skills and Technology Strategy Board. Cenex programmes include:[17]
- Plugged in Midlands Scheme[18][19]
- Low Carbon Vehicle Procurement Programme (LCVPP)[20][21][22]
- Transport Knowledge Transfer Network[23][24]
- Niche Vehicle Programme[25][26]
Consultancy
Cenex also offers consultancy services for fleet carbon reduction:[27]
- Fleet Carbon Reduction Guide[28][29] and Fleet Carbon Reduction Tool.[30][31][32][33]
- Cenex Biomethane Toolkit& Biomethane Calculator used for vehicle tests such as Coca-Cola trial.[34][35][36][37]
- Vehicle Deployment Trials including the Cenex Smart Electric Drive and Move Trials[38][39][40][41]
