Center for an Urban Future

The Center for an Urban Future is an American public policy think tank based in Manhattan, a borough of New York City in the United States. It was developed from City Limits Magazine and was founded in 1996.[1] The Center describes itself as "dedicated to improving the overall health of New York City" with a focus towards the problems of low-income and working-class neighborhoods.[2] It is sometimes considered a centrist alternative to the Manhattan Institute.[1] In November 2009, the corporate parent of the center, City Futures, Inc., announced a spin-off of City Limits Magazine and website to the Community Service Society of New York,[3] leaving the nonpartisan think tank independent of the more liberal magazine.
