Châtelet

In antiquity, a châtelet (French pronunciation: ​[ʃatlɛ]) was a little castle or fortress, wherein the Châtelain (French pronunciation: ​[ʃatlɛ̃], female chatelaine [ʃatlɛn]), or governor lodged.
