Christianity in Uttarakhand

An Anglican Church, The India Christian Mission Church was formed in Almora on 1 November 1897 by an Anglican Priest from the Bicester Parish of Church of England by the late lamented Rev. Arthur Stephen Paynter. Kali Charan Bannerji, of Indian National Congress has helped him in extending the Mission to Chmpawat and other Districts of the State of Uttar Pradesh. (now Uttarakhand)
