The Coloane B Power Station (CCB; Chinese: 路環發電 - B廠) is a combined cycle gas-fired power station in Coloane, Macau, China. It is the latest power station in Macau.
Generation
The power station installed capacity makes up 29% of Macau's total installed capacity. In 2012, it generated 2% of total electricity production in Macau.
Operation
Inauguration
The power station was formally inaugurated on 8 April 2003 in a ceremony attended by Chief Executive of Macau Edmund Ho. Upon its launch, the power plant added 38% growth to Macau's total installed capacity of electricity.[1]
2012 fuel oil leakage drill
In September 2012, CEM launched a fuel oil leakage drill at the power station. In the simulation, an oil leakage was found in the power station fuel oil storage tank, and the power station operator immediately reported the case to the control room according to the contingency plan. The power station staff took the necessary contingency measures to handle the incident and transfer the fuel oil to another tank. The fire team formed by staff got ready aside. The whole drill lasted for about 30 minutes and went smoothly.[2]
Environmental protection
To better protect the environment, the CEM invested MOP 220 million to introduce advanced recycling technology to timely reduce waste and a large incinerator to handle the final waste and impose a strict system on environment protection of the power station.[1]
