Conception Vessel is the debut album by Paul Motian released on the ECM label in 1973. It was recorded on November 25 & 26 1972 at Butterfly and Sound Ideas Studios, New York City, and features performances by Motian with Keith Jarrett, Charlie Haden, Leroy Jenkins, Sam Brown and Becky Friend.
Reception
The Allmusic review by Ron Wynn awarded the album 4 stars stating "This is Motian's debut as a leader. It includes ambitious cuts with guitarist Sam Brown and also features pianist Keith Jarrett.".[1]
