Cornelis Andries Backer (1874–1963) was a Dutch botanist and pteridologist.[1][2]

Honours
The genus Backeria (Melastomataceae) was named after Backer in 1943 by Reinier Cornelis Bakhuizen van den Brink Jr.[3]
