Corporate Town of Quorn
The Corporate Town of Quorn was a local government area in South Australia, centred on the town of Quorn. It was incorporated on 25 October 1883, and was separated from the surrounding District Council of Kanyaka by parkland surrounding the town. Its population in 1936 was reported to be 1,080. It was based out of the historic Quorn Town Hall from its opening in 1891, but moved to a new council chamber in Seventh Street in 1953. The 1953 building was subsequently used for its successors, the District Council of Kanyaka-Quorn and Flinders Ranges Council; the 1891 building survives as a heritage-listed community facility.[1][2] It merged with the District Council of Kanyaka on 1 April 1969 to form the District Council of Kanyaka-Quorn.[3]
