The Cuban emerald (Chlorostilbon ricordii) is a species of hummingbird in the Trochilidae family. It is found in a wide range of semi-open habitats in Cuba and the western Bahamas. This bird is known locally as zun-zun, and can be observed to be feeding throughout the day, perching on a wire to rest.

Description

The male is almost entirely metallic green and measures up to 10 cm (3.9 in) long. He has a slight bluish tinge to the breast, white spot behind the eye and a forked black tail. The female differs with a grey throat, breast and belly.^[2]
